The most common causes are dirty filters or coils, low refrigerant from a gas leak, a failed capacitor or fan motor, a faulty PCB (often after a power surge or load-shedding), or an incorrectly sized unit. Switch the unit off to protect the compressor and call KFRCOOL on 078 298 4438 — our Johannesburg technicians diagnose and fix most faults on the first visit.

A standard split system takes 3 to 5 hours per unit including commissioning. Multi-split installations take 4 to 8 hours, ducted systems 1 to 3 days, and VRF commercial projects are scheduled per project. Most Johannesburg residential installations are completed the same day.

Homes in Johannesburg should service aircons at least once a year, ideally before summer. Commercial, restaurant and dusty industrial sites should service every 3 to 6 months. KFRCOOL offers annual and bi-annual maintenance contracts with priority call-out and discounted repair rates.
